ಹೊಸಬರ ಕೆಲ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳೇ ಹಾಗೆ. ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರದ ಕ್ರೇಜು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ರಿಲೀಸ್‌ ಬಳಿಕ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೊಂದೇ ಕಾರಣ ಅನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಹಾಡುಗಳು. 'ಮದರಂಗಿ' ಅನ್ನೋ ಚಿತ್ರ ಕ್ರೇಜ್‌ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದೇ 'ಡಾರ್ಲಿಂಗ್‌ ಡಾರ್ಲಿಂಗ್‌' ಎಂಬ ರೆಟ್ರೋ ಸ್ಟೈಲ್‌ ಹಾಡಿನಿಂದ. ಈ ಹಾಡು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದವರೆಗೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಯ್ತು ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ 'ಮದರಂಗಿ'ಗೆ ಐವತ್ತರ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ.
ಆದರೆ, ಐವತ್ತು ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಬೆರಳೆಣಿಕೆಯಷ್ಟು . ಆದರೂ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಮಟ್ಟಿಗಿನ ಖುಷಿ ಇದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಕಂಡಿದೆ ಅನ್ನೋದು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ನಾಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ಮಾತು. ಅದು ಅವರ ಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರತಿಫ‌ಲವಂತೆ. ಮೈಸೂರು, ಮಂಡ್ಯ, ಹಾಸನ ಮತ್ತು ದಾವಣಗೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 'ಮದರಂಗಿ' ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ಬಂದಿದೆಯಂತೆ. ಮೈಸೂರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂಡ್ರೆಡ್‌ ಡೇಸ್‌ ಆಗುವ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿವೆ ಅಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದೊಂದು ನಗೆ ಬೀರುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ.
ಹೀರೋ ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಅದೇಕೋ 'ಮದರಂಗಿ' ಐವತ್ತು ದಿನ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದು ಖುಷಿನೇ ಇಲ್ಲವಂತೆ! ಯಾಕಪ್ಪಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀಯಾ ಅಂತ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯೇನೋ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ನನ್ನೀ 'ಮದರಂಗಿ' 'ಮುಂಗಾರು ಮಳೆ', 'ದುನಿಯಾ' ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಂತೆ ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್‌ ಕ್ರಿಯೇಟ್‌ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಖಂಡಿತ ಅಂಥದ್ದೊಂದು ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್‌ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕೊಡ್ತೀನಿ ಅಂತ ಎದೆ ತಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ, ಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಈವರೆಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 40 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. ಒಂದು ಕಥೆಯೂ ಓಕೆ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲವಂತೆ. ಕಾರಣ, ಮಾಡುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮೋಸ ಆಗಬಾರದು. ಅಂತಹ ಕಥೆ ಇರುವ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ಕೂಡ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಇರೋದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ' ಅಂತ ಶಪಥ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣ!

NAM DUNIYA NAM STYLE

The contribution of the Gubbi Veeranna Nataka Company to professional theatre in Kannada is unparalleled. The scion of the family, director Preetham Gubbi, has turned producer with Nam Duniya Nam Style under the Gubbi Talkies banner. He continues the family tradition of entertaining the audience and carries the family name forward. Casting a host of young actors, Preetham has taken up an onerous challenge. All his previous films had love stories. This is no different but for a change there are three pairs of lovers.
    Preetham does not deviate much from his format of storytelling which involves glossy imageryandloadsofdialouges. Asusual,oneoftheprotagonist is called Preetham. Preetham follows his lover to Malaysia alongwithhisfriends.Hislover is already in a live-in relationship. To complicate things, his friendstoofallinlovewithother girls there. The film narrateshowthisyoungbunch trie sto get what they want without a care for following social norms and hence the title, Nam Duniya Nam Style.
    It is a simple tale and never does it pretend to be serious. That is the biggest plus for the film as the youngsters enjoy their time in Malaysia and cinematographer HC Venu doing a fabulous job making the film look like a grand journey. The story seems to slow down a bit and Preetham does not care to tie up some loose ends, but it can be easily forgotten as Likith Shetty, Vinayak Joshi, Krishna Nagappa, Milana and Sonia Gowda go about their job as if they were on a jolly trip. Their enthusiasm is what keeps the film's mood upbeat. Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokilaaddtothetime-passvalue of the film.
    Shaan Rehman, in his first Kannada film, delivers good tunes, two of which are really special.Anotherinterestingaspect in the film is the dialouges by Harsha Urs. They sound like what youngsters would speak normally. There is nothing filmi about it.
    The actors have done their jobwellandPreetham,though not really excelling, had done his best. There have been a few youthfulfilmsthisyearinKannada, barring Parari earlier. If you have time to spend, NDNS is the place to go.

Bangalore kids to participate in the Dance World Cup 2013

Agroup of young dancers in Bangalore has put the Garden City on the international dance map. Shree Shravan Chetty, Shreya Bharpilania, Diya Shenoy, Anusha Chaturvedi, Tanisha Mahesh, Ravithejas Gopinath and Vikram Ganesh will participate in the Dance World Cup 2013 to be held in Brighton, UK, which is considered the best children and youth dance competition in the world. These kids have been trained and supported by Lourd Vijay’s Dance Studio (LVDS). The children will compete in two categories: Hip Hop and Street Dance, and National Folk Dance in the competition that kick-starts on July 1.
    “I started dancing at the age of 5, training under LVDS and won a position in a reality show for three consecutive years. This year, I’m thrilled because I get to participate in the Dance World Cup in Brighton with fellow participants to represent India,” says 11-year-old Shree.
    The choreographer for the competition, Yashaswini Kedilaya, says, “It’s an honour for all of us at LVDS to be representing India in the competition. The kids are doing a great job of rehearsing every day and giving it their best. We are looking forward to the big day and all of us are hopeful and positive.”
